Every tea culture is kin.

Say “tea” in almost any language and you’ll land on one of two words, both from China.

Where tea arrived on Dutch ships from Fujian, it became tea, Tee, thé. Almost everywhere else, it became some form of cha: chai, çay, chá, trà.

Different cups, same family.

Tea people are like that too. A gongfu regular in Taipei, a first-timer in Bangkok, someone pouring çay in Istanbul. Different cups, same care: good leaves, good water, a place that takes tea seriously.

Those places are hard to find. Most map reviews come from people who don’t care much about tea.

TeaKin is where tea people find them. Tea places and teas worth finding, picked by tea people. Log every cup in your Passport, learn as you go, and sit down with others at gatherings.
